KATHMANDU, June 19: The government has asked all people who were displaced from bordering villages in Dang to return home, promising infrastructure development in their villages including Rajpur, Koilabas, Bela and Gobrariha.

Some 2,000 people, who fled their villages due to alleged atrocities from the Indian side, are living in the Kari community forest adjoining the East-West Highway for the past few days.

The government on Thursday approved a plan to extend drinking water, road, telephone and education services to the villages, besides setting up police posts, health posts and cooperative shops in the villages, according to a government official.
