DAMAK, Oct 6: Leader of the CPN-UML and former speaker, Subas Chandra Nembang, has said that it would be better if Chairman of the Interim Election Council of Ministers, Khil Raj Regmi, tendered his resignation from the post of the Chief Justice, to make the election environment clearer.

At a news conference organised by Press Chautari Nepal, Jhapa, at Damak on Sunday, Nembang suggested that it would be better if Regmi resigns from the post of the Chief Justice for guaranteeing the participation of all in the election to the Constituent Assembly (CA).[break]

He said final attempt should be made to hold CA election on the fixed date on November 19 rather than postponing it.

Stating that election was the best alternative in democratic system for ending political transition, Nembang said that Regmi should be ready to tender his resignation from the post of the Chief Justice if his resignation was necessary to hold election in participation of all as well as to hold election in peaceful manner.

He further said that Chairman Regmi should not be an obstacle of it if the country gets an outlet.

Nembang, candidate of the direct election from the CPN-UML at Ilam Constituency No. 2, clarified that now there was no doubt on holding CA election.
