KATHMANDU, Sept 21: Authorities have begun efforts to verify the number of people reported missing after the Bhotekoshi flood through a virtual meeting with chief district officers, district security committee members and district emergency operation center officials from all 77 districts.
The meeting, chaired by Balram Niraula, joint secretary at the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, focused on determining the actual number of people still unaccounted for after the flood.
Officials found that some people had been reported missing both in their home districts and in flood-hit Rasuwa and Nuwakot, resulting in duplicate entries.

District administration offices have agreed to verify missing-person records from their respective districts and enter the confirmed details into the Setu app.
The process aims to remove duplicate names and establish an accurate count of people still missing in the Bhotekoshi flood.
