Rana wins 10m air rifle

KATHMANDU, July 18: Olympian Sneha Rajya Laxmi Rana won the gold medal in 10-metre air rifle event of the Nationwide Open Shooting Championship on Thursday.

Rana scored 195 out of 200 points during the championship held at the Satdobato Shooting Range in Lalitpur to clinch gold for Rupandehi.



Another Olympian Phul Maya Kyapchhaki of the Nepal Police Club (NPC) scored 190 points to claim silver. Durga Sinjali, also from NPC, accumulated 170 points and finished third in the event. [break]



Deepak Thapa of the Nepal Army had clinched men´s 10-metre air rifle gold on Wednesday.

Kuber KC, also from the Army, had won the men´s 10-metre air pistol while NPC´s Sima Tuladhar bagged gold medal in women´s 10-metre air pistol. All the gold medalists received a purse of Rs 10,000 each while silver medalists got Rs 7,000.
