The race began at Chandanath Temple in Jumla"s headquarter Khalanga at 7am. The course went through the Aireni Village of Lama VDC before ending back at the famous temple.
Rajan completed the 21 km race, clocking in at one hour, 14 minutes and 49 seconds to win gold in the men"s category. With the timing of one hour, 15 minutes and 22 seconds, Dhir Bahadur Buda of Bumramadichaur VDC finished second and Prem Bhandari of Chandanatah Municipality won bronze with the timing of one hour and 15 minutes.
In the women"s race, Rajpura clocked one hour, 34 minutes and 24 seconds for her gold.
Sunmaya Buda of Patarasi VDC took silver clocking one hour, 39 minutes and 30 seconds while Sita Neupane of Chandanath VDC won bronze with the timing of one hour, 39 minutes and 49 seconds.
Apart from runners from Rajpura VDC, other winners include the students of high-altitude marathoner Hari Rokaya, who also the coordinator of the race.
According to him, the top three winners in both categories will be awarded with Rs 10,000 Rs 7,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively in a week time.
