KATHMANDU, May 26: With the onset of monsoon season, Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has reduced load-shedding hours in the valley to up to five hours a day. It has, however, not officially revised the 12-hour power cut schedule.

“We have to wait for a few days to see whether the rise in water level will be stable,” Sher Singh Bhat, Director of System Operations Department of NEA, said. He said NEA has imposed only four to five hours power cut since last few days.

Bhat said power cut will depend on consistency of rainfall. “We will revise the schedule when the rainfall becomes consistent,” he said.
