SAPTARI, March 3: Police have nabbed 80 sacks of illegal marijuana from a warehouse in Murhi of Rajbiraj Municipality-9, Saptari. Police have also seized a large quantity of narcotics, including smuggled goods worth crores of rupees, from a house in Rajbiraj Municipality-9, Maleth, Saptari.
The goods were recovered during a raid led by Chief District Officer (CDO) Bhola Dahal and Saptari Police Superintendent of Police (SP) Dhakendra Khatiwada.
Based on a special tip-off, the police have so far seized 80 sacks of marijuana. Police said that the warehouse contains clothing, hardware and even apples. Police said that they have not been able to find who owns the warehouse.
When the police broke the lock of the house and entered, they found a large quantity of marijuana. In addition, tobacco and other items along with apples, sugar, sanitary pads packed in sacks were also seized.
According to police, the seized marijuana weighed 24 quintals and 19.5 kg. Police said that an investigation is underway to determine who owns the house and the seized goods.
