MAKWANPUR, Aug 13: Police on Sunday confiscated 113 kilograms of marijuana and arrested truck driver Bishnu Bhakta Shrestha in Hetauda. Acting on a tip off, police impounded a vehicle carrying drugs and confiscated illegal marijuana being transported to Bara.
According to police, it took the truck with registration number Na 4 Kha 293 under control from Manohari of Hetauda while it was heading to Bara district from Shaktikhor of Chitwan.

A team of police from Province 3 headquarters in Hetauda led by Inspector Roshan Thapa arrested the driver and took the truck under its control. The 41-year-old driver Shrestha, who is also the owner of the truck, is said to be a local of Rapti Municipality-4, Chitwan.
Thirty-five packets of marijuana weighing up to 113 kg were packed in six different plastic sacks and were hidden at the back part of the truck, police said.Immediately after confiscating the marijuana, the driver was taken to Manahari Area Police Office for further investigation to find out the seller and buyer of the illegal drug. Police say investigation into the matter is underway.
