Police, marijuana smugglers clash in Parsa

PARSA, Aug 27: A clash took place between Marijuana smugglers and armed police personnel at Mirjapur VDC in Parsa district on Sunday night.



According to Assistant Sub-Inspector at the Police Post, Mirjapur, Basu Khadka, the marijuana smugglers, who were taking marijuana to India, opened fire targeting the patrol police team and in response, the patrol team also opened fire.[break]



In this connection, police had opened 13 round of blank fire and the smugglers responded with nine rounds, Khadka said.



No human casualty was reported in the clash, but police team was able to seize one quintal and 50 kilograms of marijuana, according to the Armed Police Border Security Office, Parsa.



Similarly, a police team from Viswa under the Armed Police Border Security Office arrested a local Madal Miya along with three kilograms of hashish last night.
