KATHMANDU, Jan 3: Police on Sunday morning arrested seven people from Birgunj Metropolitan City-21 in Parsa district on the charge of smuggling a huge amount of marijuana.
Acting on a special tip-off, a team of police from the Narcotics Control Bureau arrested seven individuals with 105 kilograms of marijuana, said police.

Those arrested have been identified as Bijaya Tamang, 24, Laxman Sitaula, 32, Kishor, 18, of Hetauda Sub Metropolitan City-24. Likewise, Ram Lal Gole, 26, of Kailash Rural Municipality-10, Niraj Lama, 37, of Dhading, Sanu Lal Tamang, of Chitwan, and Shaid Miya Alam, 51, of Parsa district, were also arrested.
“After getting a special tip-off, a police team checked a vehicle – parked suspiciously on the roadside. A huge cache of the drug was recovered from the vehicle,” a statement issued by the police reads.
The arrested have been sent to the Parsa District Police Office for further investigation, said the Narcotics Bureau.
