DHANGADI, Jan 27: The cadre of opposition parties on Sunday greeted Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai with black flags and pelted stone at his vehicle here in the district. Prime Minister Bhattarai was on his way to participate in his party’s district convention.
Earlier in the day, the Nepali Congress ‘s student wing Nepal Students Union (NSU) has called Dhangadi shutdown ahead of the prime minister’s scheduled visit to the mid-western Tarai city.[break]
The banda was called beginning 2 pm until 4 pm today. The Maoist party’s program is taking place at the covered hall of the stadium in Dhangadi. NSU intends to obstruct the Maoist district convention the way the ruling party’s similar programs faced hindrances elsewhere, by agitating opposition parties.
