JANAKPUR, June 11: Shiva Narayan Bhandari, a peon of District Development Committee (DDC), Dhanusha, was murdered on Thursday night.
Bhandari was shot dead in Shyam Chowk nearby Janakpur Airport.
Bhandari was killed in protest of the arrest of five cadres of Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (Rajan Mukti) by police, stated in a press release issued by the Morcha.
Meanwhile, a motorcyclist died on the spot when a Kathmandu-bound truck (Na 4 kha 1822) from Sarlahi hit a motorbike in Hetauda Bus Park Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Sandip Gurung, 22, of Hetauda municipality-10, according to police.
Police took control driver and truck for investigation.
