KATHMANDU, May 15: Deputy General Manager of ride-sharing company Pathao, Shashank Shamsher Thapa, has resigned from his post after eight years of service.
Thapa, who had served in multiple roles including legal head and deputy general manager at Pathao, stepped down after contributing to the company’s growth over the past eight years.
Speaking to Republica, Thapa said he decided to resign after taking the company to a certain level of development and to provide opportunities for the younger generation.

Responding to questions about why he is leaving amid increasing competition in the ride-sharing sector, he said he had played a key role in building Pathao and expressed confidence that the company would continue moving forward in a new direction.
Thapa played a significant role in the initial registration of ride-sharing services in Nepal and was also involved in implementing ride-sharing insurance policies.
He also worked in coordination with federal and provincial governments during the formulation of provincial-level laws related to ride-sharing services.
