No vehicles are plying along the Kathmandu-Trishuli and Trishuli-Dhunche routes due to the strike called by the All Nepal Transport Workers Association and Independent Transport Workers Association. [break]
The associations have called the strike over a road accident that resulted in the death of the 23-year-old motorcyclist, Suman Adhikari, in Garkhu of the district last Saturday.
Following the incident, police arrested a bus driver Dan Bahadur Tamang and filed a case against him charging him with murder.
Jivan Dhungana, a transport worker, said they would continue their strike unless police withdraws the case, saying police falsely incriminated Tamag in the case.
The agitating tranport workers bodies have further warned that they would come up with a sterner protest program if authorities fails to meet their demand.
