Media persons under the leadership of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), Nawalparasi, reached the office of Police Chief after submitting a memorandum to the Minister for Home Affairs through the Area Administration Office.
District Chairman of the FNJ, Homraj Ranabhat said that media persons based in Kawasoti and Gaindakot in Nawalparasi district submitted the memo to the Minister for Home Affairs through the Area Administration Office after they could not reach the district headquarters, Parasi.
Ranabhat said that they reached the police office as they faced problems even if they showed the journalist identity card and because of obstruction at the different Chowks during the strike called by Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN).
The media persons drew the attention of the concerned in the local administration saying it was not responsible while different essential vehicles including ambulances, and that of press were vandalized every day during the banda.
The FNJ submitted the memo demanding action against the guilty, arrangement of treatment and compensation and public apology by the agitators.
