Committee Chairman Padam Lal Bishwakarma made public the findings of their visits to the two bordering districts on Tuesday.
Addressing a news conference, Bishwakarma termed irresponsible and objectionable the remarks by Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala and Indian envoy Rakesh Sood that the news of border encroachment was ´fabricated´ and ´political issue motivated by certain political party´.
Among others, the committee has recommended to conduct fresh mapping of British-Indian border on the basis of basic map prepared jointly by the then British-India and Nepal, erect main, subsidiary and minor pillars along the border as per the basic map and settle the border disputes caused by changing river course.
It has also recommended clearing the constructions developed in the 30-meter no-man´s land.
Bishwakarma said that the mapping of Anglo-Indian border said to be completed 98 percent needed to be reviewed in the wake of new situation and changed context on border issues. The disputes of highly controversial Kalapani and Susta also need to be resolved before giving completion to the mapping of Anglo-Indian border.
A team of parliamentarians led by Bishwakarma had visited to Koilabas, Khabari, Gurung, Patauli, Kalyanpur, Sukaili,Khangra and Satbariya in Dang during its six-day field trip starting June 8.
