KATHMANDU, Feb 25: Ahead of the upcoming elections, the CPN-UML has seen a surge of new entrants, with over 350 individuals from various parties, including the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), joining the party in Damak-4, Jhapa-5.
The induction ceremony was held on Wednesday at Dharadhare Tole, where the new members formally switched allegiance to UML. Party chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli welcomed the entrants, highlighting the party’s leadership and development record in the region.

New members cited past development achievements under UML and Oli’s leadership as a key reason for their shift, expressing confidence that only UML and Oli can continue to drive progress in the area.
Several regional leaders of the Rastriya Swatantra Party and other individuals had previously joined UML from the constituency. Chairman Oli is also contesting the House of Representatives (HoR) election from Jhapa-5 in the upcoming polls on March 5.
