Over 2,400 motorists booked for traffic rule violations in a day

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, among those penalized, 140 individuals were caught driving under the influence of alcohol, 116 were involved in illegal ride-sharing, 138 violated traffic signal rules, and 284 were found speeding.

KATHMANDU June 14: In the last 24 hours, a total of 2,408 motorists have been penalized for breaching traffic regulations, resulting in a revenue collection of Rs 458,000.



According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, among those penalized, 140 individuals were caught driving under the influence of alcohol, 116 were involved in illegal ride-sharing, 138 violated traffic signal rules, and 284 were found speeding.

Similarly, 85 motorists failed to adhere to lane discipline, 106 were penalized for honking in restricted areas, 124 parked their vehicles in road zones, 116 drove on one-way streets, and 1,335 were punished for various other traffic violations.
