Nvc takes action against 216 employees

KATHMANDU, Oct 1: Two hundred and sixteen employees at 10 different educational institutions are facing action of the National Vigilance Centre (NVC) after it found in a monitoring carried out at these institutions by the centre that they were not present in office or were not wearing the prescribed dress.



In a monitoring conducted at these institutions on Monday, 131 employees were found to have stayed on leave without approving it and 85 were found not wearing the prescribed dress. The employees facing action range from the Non-gazetted level employees to the Gazetted level ones. [break]



A press release issued by Chief Officer at the centre Madhav Prasad Regmi states that 48 employees were found absent from work during a surprise check carried out at these institutions on an earlier date.



The centre had mobilized nine teams to conduct the monitoring at the Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB), the Non-formal Education Centre, the Centre for Educational Resource and Training, the University Grants Commission, the Curriculum Development Centre, the Department of Education, the Office of the Controller of Examinations, Janak Education Materials Centre, the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training and the Institute for Technical Training.
