NRNs give Rs 5 million to PM's relief fund

KATHMANDU, July 17: Non-Resident Nepalis have contributed Rs 5 million to the Prime Minister´s Relief Fund. A team led by Jiba Lamichhane, chairman of Non-Resident Nepali Association hand handed over the check for Rs 5 million to the Chairman of Interim Election Council Khil Raj Regmi amid a function in Singhadurbar on Wednesday.



The sixth-regional meeting of NRN Europe and fourth meeting of NRN women held in Zurich of Switzerland from June 21 to 23 had decided to contribute Rs 6 million to the fund. Lamichanne said that amount handed over on Wednesday is the first installment of their support. Phulkumari Mahato Trust has contributed Rs 1.75 million, according to Upendra Mahatothe, founder chairman of NRN. [break]
