KATHMANDU, Nov 4: Police have arrested Nicholous Bhusal. A team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office apprehended him from Gorkha Municipality-8, Saraswati Ashram, on Tuesday.
Police are preparing to bring him to Kathmandu for further action. Bhusal had previously made controversial statements on social media, prompting police to keep him under surveillance.
He had issued violent remarks, naming Prime Minister Sushila Karki, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal and Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah. Bhusal had also made derogatory remarks against former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.
On Saturday, Bhusal held a press conference at Sambad Dabali where he accused former PM Oli and then-Home Minister Lekhak of being responsible for the deaths during the Gen Z protest of September 8. A total of 19 people were killed that day in police firing, he claimed, adding that the duo held direct responsibility for the incident.
