Aryal said that he would give continuity to the good initiatives undertaken by the previous chief of KMC.

He has also demanded progress report of the ongoing development works in the metropolis. "I will also ask contractors to accelerate development works as monsoon is approaching and fiscal year is ending," he added. To respond to the allegations of corruption in the metropolis, Aryal has planned to shift to e-governance system.

The metropolis has already been working to develop such a system. "Corruption will be minimized once we shift to e-governance," he added. He said that that he will work to bring the budget for the next fiscal year on time. Aryal said his main priority is to ease the woes of people and try to make the metropolis risk free.

The government transferred the previous executive officer after his name was linked with several controversies, including disputes related to Kathmandu Trade Tower and agreement with Side Walker Traders Pvt. Ltd. Meanwhile, several important initiatives were launched during Adhikari´s tenure. He had launched several campaigns like green city campaign, clean Kathmandu campaign, ban on polythene bags, start of the night bus service and others. But most of the campaigns could not acheive their intended goals.
