New CDO in several districts

KATHMANDU, April 17: The government has made changes in Chief District Officers (CDO) in several districts in view of preparations for coming elections.



The home ministry transferred Basanta Raj Gautam as CDO in Kathmandu, Himnath Dawadi in Bhaktapur, Dhruva Prasad Dhakal in Pokhara, Narendra Raj Sharma in Chitwan, Ekmani Nepal in Jhapa, Balkrishna Panthi in Rupandehi, Jeevan Wali in Banke, Ravilal Panta in Dang and Basudev Dahal in Surkhet. "We have made some changes in CDOs in some districts with a view to assign experienced bureaucrats for the positions given the sensitivity of coming elections," Shankar Koirala, spokesman of the home ministry, told Republica.



An official privy to the development said the decision was taken as such changes can´t be made after the election date is announced.
