Based on an agreement among major three parties, the CA meeting slated for Thursday afternoon will unveil a new timetable for enforcing the much-awaited new statute.
According to the CA calendar prepared by second-rung leaders of three parties in presence of CA Chairman Subas Nembang, the CA will commence voting on April 30 and promulgate constitution on July 16.
Source privy to development said leaders of Nepali Congress (NC), CPN-UML and UCPN (Maoist) prepared the new timetable on Tuesday. According to source at CA Secretariat, the timetable will be presented at today’s meeting scheduled for 3 pm.
Earlier, the CA had endorsed calendar to promulgate constitution on January 22. After failing to follow it, CA calendar was readied for the second time.

Meanwhile, the opposition alliance-led by the UCPN (Maoist) said it won’t attend today’s CA meeting.
UCPN (Maoist) leader Top Bahadur Rayamajhi said the alliance has not reached any conclusion on attending the meeting.
Sources said the coalition is attempting to appease Madhesi People's Rights Forum-Nepal, Sadhbhawana Party and Samajik Loktantrik Party riled by UCPN(Maoist)’s decision to resolve contentious issues through voting.
