According to the police, Thapa, a resident of Rajiv Nagar in Gachibowli and an assistant cook at Infotech, had become friends with Amose, 25, a resident of Nanakramguda, who also works as a cook at Ista hotel in Rajeev Nagar.
Thapa reportedly gave money to Amose and there was a dispute between both of them on the issue.
On Sunday night at 11 p.m., Amose went to Thapa’s house and took him to an unknown place.
Thapa returned home at around midnight with stabbing injuries.
He died on Monday morning at a hospital.
Police said Amose is absconding.
