Nepali cricketers eager to meet Dhoni

KATHMANDU, June 15: Nepal´s U-19 cricketers are enthusiastically awaiting the arrival of Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni who is scheduled to give some tips to the players during his official visit on Saturday.

Experienced left hand spinner Rahul BK said that the team is excited about Dhoni´s visit and all the players are eager to meet him. [break]“Dhoni will share with us his experiences of international matches which will be helpful for us prior to the Asian Cup and U-19 World Cup,” said BK.

General Secretary of Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) Ashok Nath Pyakurel said that Dhoni´s visit would draw international attention for Nepali cricket.

“The Indian fans will know about Nepal´s cricketing culture,” said Pyakurel, adding, “We are planning to make him Nepal´s Cricket Ambassador so that he will spread the word on Nepali cricket in his country,” said Pyakurel.

Nepali team pace bowler Krishna Karki is also excited about meeting Dhoni. “We have seen him on television and now we are going to meet him in person,” Karki said.
