Nepal posts 251 runs target in the ACC U19 game against Kuwait

KATHMANDU, Sept 1: Nepal has posted a decent 251 run target against Kuwait in the ACC U-19 game being played on Tuesday.

Saurav Khanal and Dipendra Singh Airee’s 130-run partnership helped Nepal gather the 250 runs. Airee scored 85 (91) runs for Nepal while Khanal backed him up with 73 (115) runs.

Electing to bat first, Nepal at one stage was struggling at 66 runs having lost its six wickets. Airee and Khanal, who walked in to bat at this crucial stage, held their guard— developing a smashing partnership and guiding their team to a decent overall score.

Tail-ender Prem Tamang contributed his share on the scoreboard with his 23 runs off 27 deliveries.

Mohammad Fouzi had taken three of wickets for Kuwait while Shahrukh Quddus took two. 

Kuwait are currently batting.

Of their three matches played so far, Nepal has won two against UAE and Malaysia while losing one to Afghanistan.

The top three winners will make it to the U-19 Asia Cup Tournament. The competition has been participated by six countries including host Malaysia, Nepal, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
