BARA, March 4: Police have detained four individuals, including Manoj Kumar Chaudhary, a House of Representatives election candidate from Bara Constituency-2 representing the Nepali Communist Party (NCP), after a suspicious object was found in a vehicle on Tuesday night.
The object was discovered during a routine security check at Badniyar Chowk in Parsagadhi Municipality-3. According to the District Police Office (DPO), Parsa, the suspicious item was recovered from the vehicle in which Chaudhary was traveling. Following the discovery, all occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody for questioning.

DPO Parsa Chief Naresh Raj Subedi said the object, which appeared to be bomb-like, was found in the trunk of the vehicle at around 11 PM on Tuesday during the inspection.
The item has been placed under the supervision of the Nepal Army’s bomb disposal team, and preparations are underway to safely dispose of it. Authorities have cordoned off the area due to security concerns.
Police said that along with candidate Chaudhary, NCP leaders Satyanarayan Chaudhary, Rameshwar Mandal and Suraj Karki were also in the vehicle. The driver has been identified as Munna Ansari, a resident of Birgunj–Chhapkaiya.
All individuals remain in police custody as further investigation continues, according to the DPO.
