MAKWANPUR, May 7: Senior Nepali Congress (NC) leader Sher Bahadur Deuba on Tuesday claimed that promulgation of new constitution will only be ensured if his party wins the upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) elections.

Addressing to cadres’ gathering program here, Deuba acknowledged that dispute within the party was the main cause behind the ‘defeat’ in the previous elections. [break]

Saying that NC’s intra-party rift was in some way to blame for the failure to have new constitution, Deuba stressed on the need of maintaining unity within the party.

“NC must win the next elections for the sake of democracy and promulgation of a democratic constitution,” said Dueba, who arrived in Hetauda to inaugurate the anniversary program of Hetauda FM.
