UCPN (Maoist) candidate Mahara said his party would secure victory at constituencies 1 and 2. “Our party had won at both constituencies in the last CA poll,” said Mahara, adding, “This time around too, we will secure victory.”
Mahara claimed that other parties don´t have any grounds in the district to contest against their party.
Refuting Mahara´s claims, NC candidate Acharya, who had got a victory in the last general elections held in 2056 BS, said, “The voters will favor us as we have proposed lofty plans for the district.” He charged Mahara of being not serious towards the development of the district.
“The voters elected Mahara in the last the CA poll but he did nothing for the constituency,” he added.
Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal´s candidate Balaram Ghartimagar is another candidate at constituency 1. In total, there are 15 candidates from different parties. The number of voters at the constituency stands at 41,886.
Meanwhile, at constituency number 2, UCPN (Maoist) candidate Onsari Gharti Magar believes that she will definitely emerge victorious. “In the last CA poll, our party´s Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had got victory. This time around too, our party would get victory,” she added.
Magar claimed that more than 80 per cent of the voters at the constituency would vote for her.
The UCPN (Maoist) district committee has announced "Rolpa Development Master Plan" to develop the district. Blacktopping of various roads, construction of 12.5 MW Khugri hydropower project, and establishing polytechnic coellge, among others, are some of the major agendas of the master plan.
UML candidate Kumar Dasaudi claimed that his victory was certain at constituency 2. He then went to charge UCPN (Maoist) of not being able to deliver their promises.
Likewise, NC candidate Bhim Kumari Budhamagar is also contesting from constituency 2. She lost to UCPN (Maoist) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal in the previous polls.
Budhamagar claimed that her victory was certain this time as UCPN (Maoist) could not live up to their words. “Action speaks louder than words. The Maoists should work for the district instead of proposing lofty plans,” she complained.
She also claimed that the candidates of UCPN (Maoist) are violating the election code of conduct. “The UCPN (Maoist) candidate Onsari Gharti Magar is distributing saree to woo women voters,” Budhamagar claimed. She also claimed that the Maoist candidates have provided financial assistance to the local youth clubs to win their support.
The number of voters at the constituency number 2 stands at 52,551. A total of 11 candidates from different parties are contesting from consatituency number 2.
The observers have said that there would be tough battle between Maoist and NC candidates as the the organization of UML is weak there.
