A meeting of Parliamentary Business Advisory Committee on Friday had decided to hold third round of election for picking a new prime minister on August 2 despite NC´s demand to defer its for a some more days.
Earlier, NC had scheduled village and municipal level convention for July 25, electoral constituency level convention for July 31 and district level convention for August 2. “We have decided to defer the district level convention to August 12 keeping in view of the prime minister election,” said NC General Secretary Bimalendra Nidhi.
Nidhi said that election committee has been authorized to hold district level convention on a convenient date before the scheduled date of August 2 as well if district committee with only one or two election constituency chooses to do so. “The date for village and municipal and election constituency level convention will remain the same,” added Nidhi.
NC is holding 12th general convention of party from August 26-30. The convention holds big significance in the party as it is the first convention after the NC and NC (Democratic) merged. The convention will elect new leadership of the party.
