NC beat UCPN (Maoist) 2-0 in the final with Subash Thapa scoring twice. But the event was rather organized to create an atmosphere of co-operation and understanding among various political parties.
NC had entered the final beating Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) 3-2 on Firday while Maoists eased into the final through a walk-over from the UML.
The event was organized with the aim of eliminating animosity among the parties at the local level was jointly inaugurated by Shankar Bista (NC), Sadhuram Lamichane (Maoists) and Radhakrishna Bista (RPP).
