NC consulting other parties on Army generals´ term extension row

KATHMANDU, March 18: Nepali Congress has started consultation with other political parties in the Constituent Assembly on the issue of government refusal to extend term of eight army generals, massive politicization of the bureaucracy by the Maoists and other contemporary issues. The main opposition has called a meeting of leaders of all the parties at party president Girija Prasad Koirala’s residence Wednesday morning. “Party has started consultation with other parties on the issues of national importance,” said party Vice-President Ram Chandra Poudel. “Mainly the rejection of army headquarters’ recommendation by Defense Ministry will be discussed on today’s meeting.”
