Narayan Devi, 42, will vie in the 40+ open sections in the marathon on the second day.
Narayan Devi, who recently secured top position in London Adidas Silverstone Half Marathon on 15th March in her age category, said that she will give her best in the event as well. She has been participating in the competition paying all the expenses herself.Narayan Devi, who is known for being the first Nepali woman to complete marathon, also participated in the 26th Standard Chartered Half Marathon held in Bangkok and Australian Gold Coast Half Marathon commenced in 2014.
She had completed full marathon in 1988 and represented Nepal in the Amateur Athletic Association open invitation meets held in Sri Lanka in 1989.
South Asian record holder marathon runner Baikuntha Manandhar and Ram Krishna Maharjan, among others, bade farewell to Narayan on Tuesday.
