N-PABSON says grade evaluation system will reduce reading habit

KATHMANDU, Dec 21: The National Private and Boarding Schools Association Nepal (N-PABSON) has said that the letter grade evaluation system going to be brought into practice by the government from next year’s SLC examination might reduce the reading habit of students.

At a press meet organized by the N-PABSON here today, N-PABSON Chairman Karna Bahadur Shahi said that the wrong mentality among the students that they would be passed in the SLC exam is likely reduce their reading habit.


Chair Shahi objected to the government decision to implement the letter grading system, stating that the system was implemented without holding discussion with the stakeholders.

The N-PABSON has demanded to make the mark cent percent after adding 50 per cent from the different examinations taken by the private schools and 50 per cent from the final exam. It also requested the government to issue the result which depicts student’s personality and talent in the mark sheet.

The N-PABSON is to run ‘SLC Pre-Board’ examination from January 28 at the schools associated with it to make the letter grade evaluation system effective. RSS
