Mushroom death toll hits eight

CHITWAN, June 5: The death toll due to consumption of poisonous mushroom in the district reached eight with the death of Jeet Bahadur Chepang in Kathmandu on Saturday.



The 20-year-old was taken to Kathmandu after four members of his family died while being treated at Bharatpur Hospital.



Eight out of the 11 members in the family of Baburam Chepang, Jeet Bahadur´s father, had consumed wild mushroom for dinner on May 28 and fallen ill, and with this death all of them have died.
