According to Upendra Jha, who is one of the ten members of the party´s political committee, said the decision to send both Yadav and Gachchhadar in the government has spared the party from splitting.
On Saturday night, the MPRF Central Committee meeting had formed a five-member task force to resolve the differences between the two senior leaders of the party. The task force includes party chairman Yadav, co-chairman J P Gupta, Gachchhadar, Ram Sahaya Yadav and Sarat Singh Bhandari.
Among others, the task force is entrusted to finalize the common minimum program (CMP) of the government and negotiate the number of ministries in its share. “The political committee will sit for meeting once the task force finalizes the CMP and the number of ministries for the party,” said Jha, who is also a member of the 10-member political committee.
Jha added that the political committee will take decision as to who should lead the party in the new government and also about who will be ministers in the government.
The fourth largest party in the Constituent Assembly, the MPRF has staked claim for six ministerial portfolios.
Earlier, parliamentary party leader Gachchhadar had decided to join the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist and Leninist)-led government under his leadership.
Dissatisfied over the decision, party chairman Yadav had threatened disciplinary action against Gachchhadar arguing that the central committee´s decision about who should lead the party in the government should prevail.
Yadav had also objected to the four other parties´-- Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, Tarai Madhes Democratic Party, and Sadbhavana Party -- decision to invite Gachchhadar to join the government with his colleagues, adding that the invitation was aimed at splitting Forum.
