Monitoring committee to stop use of children in polls

BAGLUNG, Nov. 2: A Child Rights Monitoring Committee has been formed in Baglung to stop use of children for transporting election and other materials during election campaigning. [break]



The Monitoring Committee has been constituted under the convenership of Member of the District Child Welfare Committee Kaji Roshan participated in by child rights officer and various organizations in child rights sector in the district aimed at conducting healthy elections without use of children.



If the children are used in pasting pamphlets and carrying mikes and flags and in pelting stones during clashes, the Central Child Welfare Committee will be informed, said Child Rights Officer Parbati Sapkota. She said the committee will draw the attention of the government, concerned party and try to stop it.
