MoAC awards 103 farmers, institutions

KATHMANDU, Oct 27: As a part of celebrating the 30th World Food Day, the government Wednesday awarded 103 farmers and institutions making significant contribution in the development of agriculture sector.



The Ministry of Agriculture and Co-operatives (MoAC) gave away awards worth Rs 784,000 in nine different categories.[break]



The prizes were distributed to farmers, co-operatives, government offices and private companies recording remarkable performance in the production of paddy, wheat, maize, potatoes, management of fruits garden, fishery and seed.



Similarly, different farmer co-operatives making promising performance in crop production, cattle farming, fodder farming, dairy farming and goat farming, and private companies involved in seed production and dairy production were are also awarded on the occasion.



The government offices awarded on the occasion were District Agriculture Development Offices of Chitwan, Kathmandu and Kalikot; and District Livestock Service Offices of Jumla, Achham and Bardia.







Minister for Agriculture and Co-operatives Mrigendra Kumar Sing Yadav gave away the prizes and plaques to the farmers and representatives of the institutions.
