MIS, the first team from Nepal to feature in any tournament in the USA, will compete in the U-17 age category of International Youth Soccer Tournament at the Continental Cup that also includes baseball, volleyball and basketball events. According to MIS, the team´s participation became possible after they received a proposal from the organizer to compete in the event.
Ashish Gurung is the skipper of the MIS team. Bidhi Khatiwada, Bikesh Pradhan, Nischal KC, Prajwal Shrestha, Shriyash Singh, Roman Singh, Samarpan Acharya, Sohan Manandhar, Sohail Manandhar, Ashiq Raj Acharya, Samipya Subedi, Shuvam Hamal, Akshit Chhetri, Utsav Prakash Sigdel, Manzil Dhoj Khadka, Rojan Shrestha and Divin Rai are other members of the squad.
Team manager Khatri opined that the tournament will prove to be a platform for the players to exhibit their talents and gain experience.
Meanwhile, MIS Principal Raju Peter, among others, bade farewell to the team amidst a function at the school premises on Friday.
