Minister directs NEA to reduce power leakage

MAKWANPUR, July 12: Energy Minister Umakant Jha has directed the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) to reduce power leakage in order to alleviate energy crisis. He said that energy crisis could be ended to some extent if the NEA officers worked to reduce power theft and leakage. [break]



After being apprised of the progress report of NEA regional office, Hetauda on Friday, Jha said, "Time has come to do something good for the country." He directed the NEA officers here to submit a detailed report on existing problems within three days.



On the occasion Chief District officer of Makawanpur Ek Narayan Aryal said Makawanpur is one such district with maximum number of hydropower projects. He also said that people in the district have been demanding that the district be made load-shedding free as it has several hydropower projects.
