Asian Development Bank´s Country Director for Nepal Barry Hitchcock said solving the energy crisis was among the most essential factors to accelerate growth and reduce poverty in the country.
He also said ADB will continue its partnership with the government, private sector and other stakeholders to accelerate progress in this sector.
Energy Secretary Balananda Poudel said building sustainable partnerships among different stakeholders was crucial to the development of hydropower projects in Nepal, while emphasizing the need to look beyond revenue generation in the process.
The two-day forum, which was jointly organized by the government and ADB, attracted more than 200 participants including senior officials from the government, national and international private sector investors, power developers and traders, financiers, development partners, and civil society members.
