KATHMANDU, Oct 2: A standing committee meeting of the main opposition Unified CPN (Maoist) on Friday concluded that there can be no agreement with ruling Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN (Unified Marxist-Leninist) without terming the president´s move as a wrong step. [break]

Maoist leaders said the joint resolution motion to be tabled in parliament must mention it.

"If the ruling parties block such a proposal from being presented in parliament, that will be autocratic,” U-CPN (Maoist) Spokesperson Dina Nath Sharma told reporters while emerging from the meeting.

The Maoist decision came just an hour before a meeting in which top leaders from the three main political parties are scheduled to discuss over a draft of the resolution motion.

The parties have agreed in principle to introduce such a motion in parliament to resolve the longstanding political impasse amicably.
