A meeting of the party´s Standing Committee on Tuesday decided to withdraw the scheduled transport strike arguing that the program would adversely affect social activities including "weddings and bratabandha (sacred thread wearing) ceremonies," but to enforce the industrial strikes as scheduled.
However in the evening, the party also called off the party´s industrial strike. "All the protest programs scheduled for Thursday have been put off," said Fedendra Devkota, office secretary of the Maoist United National People´s Movement, Nepal.
