"The Maoist leaders have committed to give full support of the party to bring the culprit to book," UML Secretary, Shankar Pokharel told myrepublica.com.Talks between the top leaders from the two parties held at UML´s head office at Balkhu in the morning.
UML has accused the Maoist youth wing Young Communist League of being directly involved in killing of Thaiba, who is district leader of UML wing, Youth Force.
Maoist leaders expressed the commitment after the UML leaders insisted that they would co-operate the Maoists to settle several other government-related issues only after amicable resolution of the Butwal incident, according to him.
"First resolve the Butwal case then only we can go ahead on other issues," Pokharel quoted UML leaders as telling Maoist leaders during the talks.
UML has threatened to pull out of the Maoist-led coalition government if the murderers are not brought to book.
