Maoist, UML cadres clash in Biratnagar

BIRATNAGAR, Nov 2: Maoist cadres clashed with UML activists and security personnel after the Maoists greeted Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal with black flags in Biratnagar on Monday afternoon. A few persons were injured in the clash, police said.







The prime minister arrived in the eastern town to inaugurate Manamohan Adhikari Memorial Polytechnic. Indian Ambassador Rakesh Sood also participated in the function.



The polytechnic was established with the assistance from the Indian Embassy.







Local administration had deployed a large number of police personnel after coming to know about Maoist intention to disrupt the function.
