PARBAT, Oct 31: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that he does not need to ride piggyback on any political party to be the next prime minister.

Addressing an election assembly here Thursday, Dahal said, "I became the first prime minister of federal republic of Nepal with the backing from the CPN-UML. But the party betrayed as it withdrew support when I needed it the most."[break]

Claiming that he is the leader at all 240 constituencies, Dahal said, "Though I am contesting from constituency number 10 of Kathmandu and constituency number 5 of Siraha, I am the leader of all the 240 constituencies." He also said that his party needs a clear majority in the CA at any cost for drafting the new constitution.

"No constitution will be drafted until the UCPN (Maoist) secures majority. The first CA was dissolved due to the authoritarianism on the part of the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML," claimed Dahal.
