The clash occurred due to a dispute over the expenditure statement of a drinking water project. [break]
When a group of persons demanded details of the water project´s expenditure from Modh Prasad Rijal, project chairman and chief of management committee of Jagrit Lower Secondary School, Modh Prasad, who is also Maoist district leader, allegedly told his cadres to beat up them.
Maoist activist Prakash Rijal was seriously hurt in the incident. School principal Bikash Rijal, Modh Prasad and a few others were also injured.
Following the incident, the UCPN (Maoist), Nuwakot, alleged that Nepali Congress cadres were involved in the attack that left three of its cadres injured.
