ILAM, May 10: Attorney General Yuvaraj Sangraula said research process has to be made more effective for transparent judicial service.

Talking to local lawyers in Ilam on Tuesday, he said police should also investigate deeply in the criminal cases they look after. “Now investigations carried out by police alone won’t do. Our investigation process needs to be made truly investigative.”[break]

Maintaining that the law has authorized only government lawyers to handle cases related to the government, Sangraula urged lawyers to speed up investigation process on this legal basis.

Saying that police might have erred while investigating criminal cases, he called on all government lawyers to rectify mistakes and learn to ensure that errors don’t occur in future. Anyone involved in promoting impunity will be prosecuted, he said.
