Surya Prasad Aryal, Assistant Spokesperson at EC, said that although it was postponed due to its ineffectiveness in the last local level elections, the EC has started voter education from November 4.
He said that the EC is providing voter education by creating Voter Education Directory, 2079 BS to make the program effective. He also said that voter education materials have been printed and distributed to all the locals for conducting various programs covered by the directory.
Assistant spokesperson Aryal said that the audio material for voter education is being broadcasted through radio and video on television and online. He also said that the EC has arranged the budget to send the sample ballot papers to each municipality and village municipality of the district through each District Election Office since a month ago.
Aryal said that voter education programs are being conducted through workers in 6,753 wards across the country. He also said that he believed that voter education would be effective in this election as compared to the past as the voter education program will be conducted under the local level.
